2012 Senior Design Day

On Friday, April 27, over 400 engineering seniors showcased their capstone senior design projects at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs. Industry and UConn officials, faculty, students, proud parents and prospective students, enjoyed the opportunity to explore how the Class of 2012 applied engineering principles -- learned across four years at UConn -- in the design and construction of practical products and processes. Many projects culminated in working prototypes designed for a specific industrial need. Projects ran the gamut, from a regional port security enhanced video surveillance methodology and manufacturing improvements for energy cells to a wireless interface for variable frequency drives and a variety of assistive devices for disabled persons.
