Captain Jay A. Kadowaki - Keynote Speaker - BCOE Commencement , June 13, 2011






Captain Jay A. Kadowaki, commander of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona, spoke to the Bourns College of Engineering Commencement on Monday, June 13, 2011. As the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division's Command Officer, Capt. Kadowaki leads the scientists and engineers of the US Navy's independent assessment agent for training and weapons and combat systems. He oversees one of the newest federally designated labs located at the Inland Empire Navy base. Kadowaki is a 1986 graduate of the US Naval Academy and received his master's degree from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is a graduate of the College of Naval Command and Staff at the Naval War College and the Darden School of Business Executive Program. During his distinguished career, Kadowaki has been awarded four Meritorious Service Medals, five Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, and numerous campaign and service awards.
