Rogier Verbeek was one of the few scientists that were in the area at the time of Krakatoa's eruption. His observations and findings became the foundation for modern volcanology, giving detailed account of the the entire cycle of a volcano's eruption. This clip features the aftermath of Krakatoa's destruction, it's effect on the people it directly touched, as well as its world-wide influence for many years to follow.
