Nightjar

The stump on the branch Lives! Haha, sounds like one of those cheap zombie flicks. Alright, seriously, this fellow is a nightjar, a close relative of the Potoo Bird (the real expert at faking branch stumps). With that devious camouflage, it thinks that I don't see him, but I still do! Haha, the fact was, it kept landing on branches that were thinner than it. Anyway, it can afford to let me stray closer as it has short wings that enable it to weave through the dense tangles of the forest with considerable speed and precision. That frogmouth beak says, "my diet consists mainly of insects in flight, because I have a hard time pecking at trees or spearing fishies."
