SRS Heritage/ANS-SR "The Neutrino" Part 1 of 4

Part 1 of 4 of SRS Heritage Foundation's/ANS-SR's "The Neutrino" "The Neutrino": A one hour long original recording with excellent content given by Dr. Clyde Cowan concerning the motivation, prior efforts (including plans to use a fission bomb) and the actual experiment itself that first detected and proved the existence of the almost unmeasurable neutrino particle. This is a transcription of a video tape of a lecture given to an undergraduate physics course at the US Naval Academy. Some technical terminology appropriate in an introductory college physics course is used; despite this, Dr. Cowan provides a bright, insightful discussion that can be generally understood by the layman.
