Turbine Toucan Test Flight #2

This is a long forgotten footage we found in our archives and thought we'd share. This is a video of our second test flight in 2007 at Hollister with Dave Morss at the controls. If you look/listen closely, Dave is using about idle power up to half way through the takeoff before laying into the power. If memory service, he is just a bit over half power on test flight number 2, so it really illustrates just how much acceleration potential the Toucan has. Remember, the wing loading on this plane is very high and it would typically take an aircraft a great deal of runway before becoming airborne. Not the Toucan. Dave does a masterful job of flying the plane throughout the phase one-of the test program.
