Art Quilt - San Lorenzo Egrets

A fabric collage art quilt made from thousands of recycled and new fabrics - leather, batik, silk. This scene is from Santa Cruz, CA at the mouth of the San Lorenzo river at the Pacific Ocean where a flock of egrets came to feast at sunset. It is made entirely of cloth and then covered with netting and quilted. It features the photography of Tom Cannon and Erica Crawfod. Come visit alotoflife.com to see more detailed photos.

Join me on a 75+ minute journey through the woodlands and wetlands of the John Heinz Nation Wildlife Refuge in Tinicum, Pennsylvania, as we explore the various sights, sounds and textures of nature in search of tranquility, spiritual renewing, healing, inducing ASMR along the way and hopefully providing some educational value. In this episode we encounter various wildlife including blackbirds, a woodpecker, swallows, frogs, herons, egrets, various ducks and another first for me: the Bald Eagle, along with it's nest and young! We do explore some of the sounds and textures such as groundcover but not quite as much as in Episode 1, largely in part due to the various wildlife that kept us preoccupied. Stay tuned for Episode 3 as who knows where we might go next, and what we might explore and encounter!
