Kildeer Drama Queen Feigns a Broken Wing

At Indian Creek Farm, a kildeer puts on a bit of theatre for the field crew. As we unwittingly approached her eggs, laid in perfect camouflage between the nursery rows, mother kildeer feigns a broken wing to draw us (the "predators") toward her and away from her young -- the ultimate sacrifice!
