11: Military/ Defense. 70 billion to keep troops in countries that are peaceful. End Nuclear Weapons on the Earth. 320 billion dollars a year without any known enemy. Douglas McArthur said that defense is not run by defense threat, but by corporations. 2 billion dollars for stealth bombers that can't even fly in the rain. Corporations need stuff to make money. Corporations put in a million, they get back a billion in tax cuts or subsidies. Congress is the best money can buy--or rent. Military budget is huge compared to the health/safety/environmental budget combined. Child poverty is a national security problem. TB, Malaria, AIDS, the real weapons of mass destruction. Less money spent on these things than one B-2 bomber. Video by Sharon and Carlin Scott
