The film for Paul Mac's "Bird of Paradise", which opens the superb David Bridie-produced "Sound of the Morning Star" CD (2003). "Sound of the Morning Star" combines traditional West Papuan songs and ambience - recorded in the field - with tailor-made, respectful backing by Australia's top musicians and producers. The result is a collection of relevant works that bring to the fore the earthy aural cultural treasures to be found in West Papua. Unlike other works which utilise the sounds of primitive culture for commercial gain, arduous and extensive research has ensured remuneration for the Papuan authors and artists involved.
