Pat and I went to the Lilac Festival here in Rochester, NY for the first time since I've lived here. It was an absolutely perfect day of 75 degrees and sunny! Everything is in full bloom and absolutely gorgeous! I am tempted to go back this weekend to explore some more:-)
Lilac and Lace Cupcake Tower

Cupcake tower. Top cake is pound cake with cream cheese filling, covered in lilac fondant, with lace, ribbon and a brooch at the border. The bride used her parent's cake topper from 30+ years ago. Such a nice touch!
Cupcakes were pound cake, chocolate-espresso and pink champagne.
Lilacs Under Snow

Our green backyard was being blanketed this afternoon (May 30, 2010) by big fat wet snowflakes, including our lilacs and irises that are beginning to bloom!
The miserable 5 degrees Celsius temperature is not the usual fare this time of year, but I have to admit the snow was beautiful to look at. Another plus is that the yard is getting plenty of much needed moisture!
