Endless Daffodils
Vast fields of endless daffodils, tulips, irises and magnolias. With somebody beautiful prancing through.
This is the stuff that (happy) dreams are made up of.
And after 4 years, this dream finally came through: I gave a shot at the Tulip and Daffodil farms of Skagit Valley in Washington. Getting there was quite an adventure - a story that I will save for some other time. But the reward for that adventure was some magnificent sunrise shots (albeit delayed a bit) in front of some of the largest fields of daffodils this side of the Atlantic.
As I was driving along trying to find a place to shoot, I came across these line of Poplars standing guard along a beautiful field of fully-bloomed daffodils. Tripsying across wet soils and slushy puddles, and careful not to actually step onto the flower beds, I tried to compose to get the rising sun above the daffodils and the Poplars.
This was one of the resultant frames from a series of bracketed images to hold the bright sun under control. Other settings were F11, ISO 400 at 17mm.
