Due to LNER A1 Class Pacific 'Tornado' being unavailable with a cracked firebox, LNER A4 Class Pacific, 4464 'Bittern' was set the task of hauling 'The Cathedrals Express' to Oxford on the 5th July 2012. We start at Radley Station on the Cherwell Valley Line as 'Bittern' heads toward Oxford on the outward run, We then move to Didcot North Junction to see the engine head down Foxhall Junction, before reappearing having turned round for the return journey later in the afternoon. The last shot located on a road bridge near North Moreton as 'Bittern' returns to London having left Didcot on the Great Western Mainline with a classic view of Didcot power station in the background. The outward tour under headcode 1Z84 from Willesden to Oxford and then returned on the same route under headcode 1Z85. *Filmed in the company of Amy and nice to see Ian McDonald.* Video Rating: 5 / 5
